Bertorelli - Northumberland

I have lived in Newbiggin for 5 years and have never tried Bertorellis for food before. After my recent visit, I will not be returning. I ordered a full English breakfast and a latte, while my husband just had a latte. Unfortunately, the drinks were not very hot. It took a while for the breakfast to arrive, and I had to ask for butter for my dry toast. I also had to request sauce and serviettes, which I would expect to be provided without asking. The lack of customer service was disappointing, and it seems like some businesses have become complacent over time. The quality of the sausage and bacon was not good, with the sausage being undercooked and the fried egg falling apart. Overall, I was not impressed with the experience. I have had too many bad experiences eating out recently and have become fed up with constantly complaining. It seems that businesses no longer care once they have your money. I have decided to stop eating out altogether.

I don't even know where to begin....This place was absolutely terrible and I am surprised that people actually eat here. The food was awful: low-quality coleslaw, wilted iceberg lettuce, stale chips, a "panini" that was not even cooked properly. The flat white coffee was bitter and frothy, and the tea was cheap and flavorless. The restroom door had a sign instructing patrons to knock because there was no lock. The atmosphere was bleak, almost like I had entered the Twilight Zone. Overall, this place was a complete disaster.

I went to this restaurant for coffee and cake on a Wednesday afternoon. Dogs are allowed outside. It is a classic cafe with lovely staff. There are many options for cakes and the ice cream looks amazing.

Not impressed by the ‘Italian Gelato’. Definitely not great ice cream, as was led to believe, wouldn’t go back

Unfortunately, we had to walk out as we were not allowed to sit at a table. The settees were full and we were told to sit on the bar stools. However, my 79 year old mother has mobility issues and would not get on a bar stool. It was a shame that we wanted to spend money here but the girl on the till was rude and did not want to accommodate us even though there were tables to do so.
