We were looking forward to our meal here as previous reviews were good. Arrived on a snowy night and received modest reception. Pub seems to have been refitted recently and although nice it lacks cosyness and is too bright. Food was nicely presented but not particularly memorable after eating. Pudding portions were miserable for the high price. So ok but better places to eat in Wooler area.
Stayed for 2 nights and did lots of sight seeing. The location is great for Etal, Ford, Holy Island and Coldstream. Also the site of the battle of Flodden is 5 minutes away. Room was comfortable with all amenities. Breakfast was enormous and evening meals both nights were very tasty. Lambs liver melted in the mouth. Thai red vegetable curry lovely. Staff friendly and welcoming. Worth a visit.
We have been several times to the Blue Bell as a couple, but we were given particular service when we took all the family. In our party were three vegetarians, one vegan and three meat eaters and we were all beautifully catered for. We had a lovely evening.
The Blue Bell Inn is a perfect stopover when travelling South North. Evening meal delicious. Starters of haggis with a tasty sauce, then fish and chips and ale pie. All food is of an excellent quality and quantity! No room for a pudding. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes. Breakfast was perfect with a plentiful choice. All staff were welcoming, efficient and friendly. The bedroom was adequately furnished with a very comfortable bed. Everywhere in the pub was clean and tastefully furnished. Would recommend highly for a visit and stop over. Excellent value for money.
