Despite waiting for a few minutes, no one responded to us, not even with a simple nod. After attempting to get their attention with an "excuse me," we still received no response, leading us to feel invisible. The tall lady who eventually spoke to us lacked basic manners. Disappointed, we decided to leave and dine at Seaton Sluice Harbour View chip restaurant instead. The staff at the new restaurant greeted us warmly, with the lady at the garden centre shop being especially charming.
Wonderful! Lovely staff who are great and happy to help and very nice. Nothing is a problem. Dog friendly area, where they are made welcome not just tolerated. Lovely, food, delicious cheese scones.. lovely lattes that are very hot so you can linger over them. All in all very nice and look forward to our next visit. You certainly won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
First visit here on recommendation. Very friendly attentive service. All day breakfast well cooked to order and plenty of it. My choice of tuna melt sandwich was very filling. Excellent fresh cakes and sweet goodies. Impossible to fault at the price.
We have been going to this cafe for years but todays fiasco was the last straw so never again. We came for lunch today after a shopping trip. It was quite busy but there were still a few tables. Ordered at the counter then we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive no milk with the pot of tea so had to share hubby 's hot milk that was for his coffee! After another 30 minutes our food finally arrived so a total of 45 minutes spent waiting and our drinks finished ages ago. We commented that we had almost given up waiting but no apology was forthcoming, not even an enjoy your meal Hubby 's usual order of mince pie chips and salad had a strange side salad of tomato, sweetcorn and red onion, no lettuce or peppers! My chicken bacon mayo sandwich looked nice, a generous serving but when I tried it the taste was odd and when I turned it over the bread was covered in something bright yellow with a strong smell like mustard. I took it back to the counter and the waitress said it looked like coronation chicken as if the same knife had been used to make different sandwiches and then wiped on my bread!!! Not very hygienic ... She offered to get me another one and a free cup of tea. Needless to say hubby was finished his lunch when mine arrived again with no apology whatsoever. There is really no excuse for such poor service.
While the prices may be slightly higher compared to other restaurants, the quality of the dishes at this place surpasses others that shall remain unnamed.
