The Hermitage Inn is a traditional coaching inn located on the main street. As you enter, the main bar is divided into two sections. The right side is a lively bar area where locals often gather for friendly conversation, while the left side is a quieter area preferred by those dining or enjoying a tea or coffee. Up a short flight of stairs, there is an intimate overflow restaurant for busy times and a larger restaurant/function area. The food menu offers typical pub grub prepared fresh by a talented young chef. Sunday lunch times feature a popular carvery, so reservations are recommended. Prices are lower than nearby competitors. The pub offers a variety of drinks, including real ales served at competitive prices. The friendly and polite staff, mostly mature, provide excellent service. The Hermitage Inn is the best and most welcoming pub in Warkworth. Give it a visit!
I have just spend a few days in the Amble/Warkworth area and visited various places for food and drink, and The Hermitage was by far the best! Not only was the food amazing, it was great value for money! And... if you like a pint, they have a good selection of real ales and Ipa's. The new management have really got this place going I look forward to returning one day soon!
My visit was very nice and the food was basic but done very well and the service was great so I give a rating of 4stars only four because of a long wait for food
This was my first visit to this restaurant, but I will definitely be back and would recommend it to others. We walked in without a booking, but were told it was not a problem and shown to a pleasant room upstairs. Since it was a Sunday, we were offered a choice of carvery or a small basic menu. My partner and I chose the carvery, with me opting for a medium portion and him choosing a large portion, although the small plate would have been enough for me. I had the gammon and pork with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, five other vegetables, stuffing balls, crackling, and a delicious jug of gravy placed on our table. My partner had beef (2 slices) and pork, but he could have had 1 slice of all 3 meats. All of the meats just melted in our mouths and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. We heard that the restaurant has recently come under new ownership, and the new owner is certainly on the right track to creating a successful business. Good luck, and keep up the great work.
