When it finally arrived, it was disappointing. I ordered the steak and ale pie, but it lacked the taste of ale, had hardly any gravy, and the steak was tough like shoe leather. It should have been melt-in-the-mouth delicious. I am also not a fan of their chips; I would prefer to have frozen ones. Overall, I think this restaurant is overrated and overpriced.
1st time visit to this pub, picked at random it was a great choice. The service was excellent, really friendly staff. We had a table in the conservatory with a lovely view of the Seaton Burn. The Sunday roast was lovely, no complaints about any part of the meal, everything cooked to perfection nice hot. 3 if us had the 'trio of meats ' what a size Couldn 't resist the sticky toffee pudding, it was delicious but after the roast we should have shared a portion. Will definitely be back, the grandsons are wanting to try it
Went for a meal with my dad and stepmum and was pleasantly surprised, the food was really good and the lady who looked after us was excellent. Will be visiting again when I’m back up north
I had never been to this restaurant for Sunday lunch before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely atmosphere, generous portions, delicious food, and friendly staff. It was a perfect experience. Thank you.
The steak puff pastry pie had tough steak, and the lasagna was very poor. The salad was not fresh, and the garlic bread seemed to be frozen and not very good. Overall, the meal was just average pub food. It was a bit of a letdown after reading some good reviews. The pub itself was okay, but the food was disappointing. I wouldn't rush back to visit again.
