Had dinner with a friend and this was the first time, have been meaning to go and just never made it there. Food was great Mexican egg rolls are a must and the table side guacamole made to order mild or spicy is awesome ... I actually returned the next night with 8 friends after a school meeting and we had a great time, again the food was great and the signature margarita with coconut is a must try great atmosphere, affordable and we all enjoyed ourselves... definitely one of my go to places for Mexican food

I’ve been coming to DCs since it opened , it is our favorite neighborhood hangout! The Mexican egg rolls, fresh guacamole, chips and a Poma mojito are my comfort foods. The waitstaff are attentive and enthusiastic, and the owner is always there, checking on diners and staff alike.

By far my fav Mexican restaurant and bar... Staff is super friendly... Drinks and food are always on point and if you catch the owner Lou he will make sure you have the best time of your day while sitting in his establishment.... Have been going since it opened and will continue to be a patron there!

Don Carmelo’s has been on our list of places to try for quite some time and we weren’t disappointed. All of the other reviews about how great the service is are totally true. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived around 7pm. We were told there would be a 15-25 minute wait which was fine as we were cool with having a drink at the bar. While seated in the bar area, someone came over to see if we wanted some chips. Nice touch. The wait ended up being closer to 45 minutes, but several people came over to tell us they were just waiting for the table to pay their check and that they hadn’t forgotten us. The food was excellent. The chips came with three kinds of salsa. One was better than the next. My husband had the mussels appetizer from the specials menu and the sauce had great flavor. I had the short rib tacos also off the specials menu and they were fantastic. My husband also enjoyed his entrée. The dessert selection was great. We tried the dessert sampler which is a great option. Several people continuously checked on us to make sure everything was okay and the service was very prompt. We didn’t wait for anything. The only thing I didn’t love was the rice. I felt it could have used more flavor. We will be back for sure.
