Los Portales has the best Mexican food in all of Fairfield County. The waitstaff is pretty friendly too. The only bad thing about Los Portales is that I can't find a legible menu online anywhere, so I uploaded one here. As for the food, not only is there a wide variety of dishes but the dishes are delicious and authentic. The last time I ate in their restaurant was pre-COVID, but I still get takeout. Every dish that I had of theirs was worth trying, but their gorditas are especially worth trying. This is a steak gordita which they load with toppings. The gorditas only come with pork, chicharron, or cheese. If you want chicken, steak, etc. it costs extra.
This Mexican restaurant is by far my favorite one. I walk in with an empty belly and come out super content with the food cooked. I have been a loyal customer for years. I have tried other mexican restaurants (portchester, bridgeport area, stamford area) nothing comes close to the mexican food at Los Portales In Norwalk, CT.
Food is great. Good sized portions. Service is exceptional.
The restaurant is advertised as Mexican, but the menu and food seasonings beautifully reflect other Central and South American influences. We ate dinner and breakfast there. All of the ingredients were well-prepared and flavored, which when combined provided a marvelous culinary experience. I recommend the Lomo Saltado and the Pastor Breakfast Burrito.
