It's unbelievable how one pizza could be so charred that it was inedible, while the other was so raw that I had to eat the burnt edges to avoid consuming anything uncooked. I called the restaurant to explain the situation, but all I received was a bland apology—nothing more. I sarcastically thanked them, feeling completely dissatisfied. As a result, my family ended up ordering from Pizza Pyra, which is a fantastic place, and we didn’t have dinner until 8 PM. I even gave a $10 cash tip to ensure my order would be ready on time. This experience was a total disappointment, and I will never return. It's a pity that pictures can't be shared to illustrate how bad the food was.
When I first moved to Norwalk a year ago, I enjoyed Pyra. However, after my third or fourth experience, it became clear that both the quality of the food and the service were inconsistent. The pizzas are barely enough food to feed one person, and this is coming from a petite woman. Two pizzas will barely feed my husband, myself, and my toddler, which would be a non issue if they weren't so expensive. A majority of the pizza ends up being the crust, and the rest has sparse toppings.Unfortunately, due to the lack of food options in Norwalk, I have continued to order here on occasion. Which brings me to tonight. I ordered two Shroom pizzas and an order of onion rings. My total was $52. This is EXTREMELY expensive for the amount of food you end up getting. I was told it would be 40 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later and they said they would drop the onion rings so that they would be fresh. Ten minutes later the onion rings came out, but no pizzas. The young woman working the register then told me it would be another 10-15 minutes for my pizzas. ????? I have left maybe two google reviews in my life. I'm not a complainer. But this pregnant lady just wants a decent amount of food and some appropriate service for $52. I think this trip is the end of the road for me. I wanted to love Pyra SO badly, but end up feeling like I was ripped off every time I come.
We have visited this restaurant several times over the years and are never disappointed. The wood-fired pizza is amazing every time, and the level of service from the staff is impeccable. It's definitely worth a visit for any pizza lover!Food: 5/5
Great friendly staff. Pizza is the closest we have had to Italy pizza.Edit: was there about a month ago and very poor service. You could tell as soon as the crowd started showing up that a table of 2 was the last thing on their mind. Wife says it will be quite some time before we go back. Loved being there when they opened (3 tables had small groups) and we watched and watched and watched our pizza going out on to go orders. Over 50 minutes to receive our food and the waiter refused to acknowledge us.
The crust is nothing to write home about, soft and rubbery. Good ambiance in restaurant
