The Arlington Grill And Brasserie

The front desk receptionist was extremely unfriendly and did not even smile as she escorted us to our table in the dining room. The waitress who showed us to our table was also unfriendly. When we asked for a refill of the water jug on our table, we were told it had just been refilled, but it was clear our request was not well-received as we saw the staff whispering amongst themselves. Disappointed by the service, we decided to leave. Despite hearing good things about The Arlington from friends, our experience today was marred by the unfriendly staff we encountered.

Have visited several times for Sunday lunch, the staff are always very friendly. Great Sunday lunch and well priced too.

We had a great experience dining at this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The food was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly to our liking. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

My wife and I had a disappointing experience at this hotel's bar today. I ordered a bacon, brie, and cranberry panini with chips, but instead of cranberry, I was given slimy mushrooms. The chips were overcooked and soggy, a strange combination. It seemed like they were fried a week ago and reheated in the microwave. My wife's meal was a lukewarm baked potato with unappetizing prawns in a bland sauce. The waitress seemed embarrassed to serve such poor quality food. When we complained, we were only offered a fifteen percent discount on my meal. After being closed during lockdown, it would have been no loss if this hotel had shut down permanently.

We all decided to have an uplifting Monday afternoon lunch and booked an outdoor table and we were not disappointed!! We had a very personable waiter and the outdoor area was nice with large umbrellas set far enough back from the main road to be quiet and pleasant! I ordered the Ceasar Salad, and it was gorgeous with loads of anchovies, dressing and croutons. There are not many places in Norwich that serve a decent Ceasar salad and I've finally found one! One lady ordered a goats cheese, walnut and avocado salad and it was loaded! She said it was really good. Another one of us ordered a cheese an pickle sandwich, which looked great with loads of filling and although I would have preferred thinner slices of bread, she really loved it. We will definitely go back!
