Norwood is on HIghway 7 just about exactly half way between Ottawa and Toronto and as such it is a good place to stop for lunch. For many years, this was the Bluebird Restaurant, serving the usual Canadian restaurant food, but specializing in home made pies. The same old clock with the picture of a bluebird still hangs on the wall behind the counter, but now there's also a shrine to the ancestors. A family of recent Chinese immigrants is operating Ming Ming and their menu features over 100 dishes. Although you can get the usual sweet and sour chicken balls and dinners for one, two, three or four, the menu also features a wide array of better dishes, from Singapore noodles to Tai Dop Woey. The portions are ample. The service is prompt and the wait staff is trying hard to learn more English. A good find on a road trip and a nice alternative to yet another lunch at Tim Horton's.
Ming Ming restaurant is the place for homemade chinese food in the tritown area. Their food is prepare fresh daily and made to order. This makes for the vegetables having a great crispness, the noodles are firm, the wonton soup is to die for and the meats are all well cooked and seasoned! For a small restaurant, the menu is ample and so are the servings. The owners are friendly and accomadating and the waitress they bring in are friendly and outgoing. Definitely a place I order from 3 to 4 times a month. Add in the fact that they're reasonably priced and you have a winning place! It states above that they take credit cards, not sure why, but it does NOT, they don't do debit either, so make sure you stop at the machine before you head in!!!
I've only been here twice and my family came down with mild food poisoning both times. Will never eat there again. The decor is depressing and the menu is about as Chinese as a hamburger.
Seriously the worst Chinese food we've ever had, and we love Chinese food. Not sure whether it is not a taste or strange taste problem and the chicken balls are overcooked and basically all dough. Don't stand here anymore. Service: Take Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
