As we where a large group we had a limited menu and I would have liked to have seen slightly more or better choices on the menu. However the food and service was excellent. Food was very tasty and was pipping hot and the whole table was served their food in a timely manner
The pot of tea was lovely but never the less wasn’t full off water so a little let down as the teapot isn’t full to the top which was a little disappointing.
Sad to see how this place has deteriorated in the last 12 months. Been coming for years until pandemic, came this time last year as a meet up with ex work mates This time it was like coming to a different place! Mediocre food (not quite bad enough to complain about) but I think if you’re paying almost 26 quid for a steak you expect to be able to cut it and not wrestle with it, 3 of us had it so not a one off. Food warm but not piping hot but we’d waited that long and were hungry Service very poor, waited ages for drinks and then we had to ask for a food menu. The two staff seemed very inexperienced and at times clueless. Long wait for food and then post meal we ordered more drinks and eventually we had to go to the bar to find they’d forgotten our order Sadly, won’t be rushing back
We had a lovely afternoon tea here and was looked after very attentively by Katie. The choice of sandwiches was the usual but then we had tomato soup taster with cheese straw followed by fruit scones and then the best bit. Carrot cake muffins, Manchester tart and lemon cake. All so tasty and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place to others and we will return for lunch another day
Came for high tea. Seems over priced for what you actually get. Had to also pay for parking. Not a lot of sandwiches available, the cakes were not the best quality however the scones were great and the staff were friendly.
