The starters (lamb scrumpet and pea bruschetta) were a fantastic way to start the meal and our mains were delicious. The sea bass skin was perfectly crisp and the accompaniments went with it perfectly. Although the steak looked small it was more than enough and full of flavour. The house red wine was affordable and delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly and made it a really enjoyable evening.
Went there with my wife following good reviews. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious andperfectly cooked. The service was excellent and quick but never hurried. You get a sense of a place that cares about what it does and that shows.
Three friends and I frequented ‘The Larder’ on Goosegate in Nottingham on Friday. This is definitely a restaurant I would go to again and is an ideal restaurant for where you would want to dine and impress a client for business. It serves high quality British and European food, with original choices for each course, that resulted in an exceptional dining experience for each of us. The restaurant is on the first floor and away from the bustle of the City streets. The service was professional and efficient alongside a relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly easy on the ear considering all the elements you experience. It might be my age, but it was wonderful to have a meal with quality conversations where you could listen to each other without having to lean in or have to strain to decipher snatches of other diner’s stories. Extremely well looked after and cared for from start to finish. We had the added bonus of one of the best tables next to the window as reserved by a lovely lady who provided exceptional before and aftercare. Highly recommended.
Mid week after work before a 7:30pm show at The Royal Centre (10 minutes' walk away). I went mackerel starter and then monkfish main course, both of which were excellent; my wife (vegetarian) enjoyed her substantial bowl of Gnudi (a little bit like gnocchi) which she'd never encountered before. Neither of us could pass up the excellent sounding chocolate dessert, which was delightfully rich. We left full but not stuffed so just right. Friendly and efficient service. Room a tiny bit cold, particularly sat by the massive windows the radiators were not on. Sad to see we were the only people dining they deserve to be much busier. Sensible prices for the high quality of the cooking.
I can't believe I've never found this place. Really great food, friendly staff, laid back ambience. Will be back very soon.
