Amazing place and food to match There is something surreal about being in a cave. If you get to sit down and have a meal it's even better. The staff were very friendly, the food was amazing. Great experience, can't wait to go again.

My dining experience was enjoyable, but unfortunately, my group was disappointed by a dark-haired manager in a floral top shouting at a younger employee about counting forks for a table. It was a basic lack of kindness. While I understand the restaurant may have been busy, it would have been better to treat the staff with respect in front of customers. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable to witness, and made me feel nauseous due to the disrespect shown. I have always found the staff at the Hand and Heart to be friendly and welcoming, but I was greatly disappointed by this incident. Some grace and decorum would have been appreciated.

A friend had always praised this restaurant before lockdown, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the pie with chips. The pie was lukewarm, but it did have a homemade pastry top. The chips and garden peas were served in separate containers to fill the plate. Given the price, I was expecting much better quality.

We’ve been here a few times, and have always had good meals. Unfortunately this visit was quite disappointing. Starters were fine, mains were just about warm. One of our party ordered the steak pie, but was brought the “fake” pie by mistake. It wasn’t until...half way through that we realised it was not steak and the fact there were cashews in the pie. To their credit the staff credited the cost of that meal back, but with our meals being luke warm it spoiled the meal. Drinks were fine although for a tonic water seems a little excessive!
