The décor was understated yet colorful, making the small space feel open and airy, with design choices that were both inspiring and functional. The seating felt private, not on display for the world to see. It would be a lovely place to enjoy a meal with a loved one. I opted for the burger with speck jam, a topping that, if you enjoy speck and haven't tried it before, is a must-try experience. No exaggeration, it was amazing. A world without this delicious concoction is a world I want no part of. To ensure this bleak future never comes to fruition, visit The Painted Table and indulge in their decadent dishes. You'll thank the chef, you'll thank yourself, and you may even thank the heavens. And if your bill comes out to be under £14 (for two people eating two courses with drinks), you'll wonder how they manage to provide such high quality at a reasonable price. We discussed this financial sorcery with our clever host, who explained their approach to sourcing locally and cooking from scratch every day. This level of dedication to freshness and quality is not something you find at many larger restaurants. During our conversation, we also learned about their rosette accolades, although I must admit I got lost in daydreams of bacon jam before getting the full count.
I visited a restaurant with a friend on a Friday afternoon using a Wowcher deal. We were given three options by the server and decided to order a pulled pork roll and a honey chicken roll. Unfortunately, chips were not available so we were given kettle chips instead. We were eventually served two different wraps that we did not order and had to ask the server where our food was. The server then offered to make us the correct chicken roll, but it came out with dessert. The wraps had an odd taste and were soggy, and the drink options were limited to either Coke or Pepsi. As for dessert, the Victoria sponge cake looked appealing but tasted very dry, and the biscotti was hard to remove from my teeth. I felt sorry for my friend who had paid for the Wowcher deal as the food was not enjoyable. I promised to treat her to a better restaurant next time. Overall, we were not impressed and will not be returning.
I visited this restaurant with a wowcher deal, and I must say it was excellent value for money. The burger was juicy and thick, and the dessert and coffee were delicious. My only suggestion would be to have seasoning available on the table. Despite being centrally located, the restaurant is tucked away on a narrow street, making it a bit difficult to find. The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy the food themselves. Overall, it was a much nicer experience than McDonald's!
Went for a lunch with my partner as we had a voucher. Nice surprise, i liked the decor my partner didn't he is a guy and lets say the colors in there are girly). The burger was nice and what is wrong with...a knife being stabbed in the burger? every restaurant has its own style. I cant believe that people would actually moan about that.. But overall we enjoyed ourselves and the lemon tart was amazing! Cant say anything bad about the food, as we both liked it and ate it all. Will deffo return in future!
I have been a number of times, and every single time I have had the best food the burgers are moist (steamed on the griddle I believe) not greasy like others on here have said, the sticky honey chicken flavour not too sweet, perfectly...balanced dare I say, you can tell the quiche is home made and the sweet potato chips are to die for! A good selection of sweet treats like lemon tart, cheesecake, moist muffins–I have tried most things and do not have a bad word to say about them.
