The Travellers Rest - Nottingham

I'm afraid to say that it's quite disappointing. However, it's a chain restaurant that appeals to those of us who may not be too concerned about what we're eating! Kudos to bigangryphil for sharing...

This is a chain pub, but it's one of the better ones, with excellent meal options available. It's somewhat off the beaten path, but it features a nice beer garden at the back, away from the road.

Wow, definitely a no-star experience. The food was shocking, poorly prepared and presented. We ended up sending back five meals between just the two of us. It was noisy and poorly managed. I could go on, but I won’t.

The restaurant boasts a stunning interior and exterior seating. We arrived on a Sunday around noon without a reservation and were fortunate enough to secure a table, although it was at the bar, so there was no table service. However, it wasn't too inconvenient. By 12:30, the place got quite busy. I recommend being cautious and making a reservation. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The only drawback was that the Sunday roasts were advertised to come with sauces, but they didn’t provide any for the pork or horseradish for the beef. Overall, it was a lovely meal.

Booking online was a breeze. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and there was an excellent selection of food and drinks. The service was outstanding, with our drinks and meals arriving promptly after we ordered. The staff were attentive and accommodating, making everything easy, including settling the bill at the end of the meal. They also implemented good COVID-19 safety measures, and the restrooms were clean. Overall, it had a really pleasant atmosphere and was a beautiful place to dine.
