There are too many 5* reviews these days... Au P'tit Café deserves 6. It seems recommended by everyone in Noumea. Our only regret is that we have only come here once. It is not cheap, but then nowhere in NC is and actually this place is very good it subtle complex worth French food finely influenced by the tropical local flavors. Deceptive simple dishes, carefully balanced and skillful together the type of dishes would be difficult to fit at home (you can not say that over many places these days). We had the calfsal and the mahi mahi both dishes were excellent. For us the calf, especially with the sides that contained an artichoke mash. But the menu is short and turns weekly, so go with a view that everything is good and take your selection. You can't go wrong with the desserts, either the selection from which for me is the passion fruit cheesecake, a constant on the dessert menu completely blunt and divine. Oh, and also a very good wine menu. It is a small restaurant, has short opening hours and is usually packed. Booking recommended.
Came here for dinner based on a local recommendation and we were absolutely blown away. The food is bsolutrly amazing, very thoughtfully created and with this French flair you can simply not find home. The owner and his employees are very friendly and personal, help us with their limited English by showing us photos of their food, so we understand what we order. Our best dinner in Noumea by far! Make sure you book this place is very busy and right.
Absolutely amazing food and great service. The staff was friendly and attentive, and all speak great English and their native French. They even had no problems with taking up a vegan meal that was skilled with creative ingredients at short notice. Great use of subtle and unexpected flavors, and really well presented dishes. One of the best meals I've ever eaten.
Walked in without booking, luckily the owner offered a table with limited time which was generous enough. Lamb dish and fish main were just perfect, smart dosage of spice and good balance of side for main. Portions were just good. Desert we had was beautiful finale for dinner. It was so good. Must try. Definitely worth the money.
