Sake 5 stars can't go wrong here Chicken katsu Bento Box 5 stars again Katsu was good, curry was wholesome and the sides are quite nice. Rainbow roll 4 stars, the sushi rice was too soft and the rolls were not cut consistently, so some pieces are much bigger than others. Fish was very fresh. Nigiri sushi 2 stars. Although the scallop, tuna, salmon and kingfish was fresh and tasty, there was way too much rice (only needed about 1/4 or 1/3 the amount of sushi rice), and the rice was still warm. Have been to Japan 8 times (Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido islands) in the past decade and have fairly high standards.
Super tasty Japanese restaurant. The menu has variety to cater for all including vegetarian dishes. They also have a good drinks list.
Yummy Japanese food with lots of vegetarian options. My fav for the katsu udon with tempura vegetables. We also ordered mini avocado rolls, rice paper roll and cocktails. Black samurai cocktail is a must try.
The fresh sashimi platter was delightful, and the sushi rice was excellent. My husband really enjoyed his beef yakisoba as well; the beef was wonderfully tender. The only suggestion I have for the owners is to consider having the same music playing throughout the restaurant. We were seated near the front and found it a bit annoying to hear different music from both sides at the same time.
This restaurant is part of the BeLeaf Group located in Nowra. There are two separate entrances for the different dining areas, but once inside, the waiting area divides them. The food portions are decent, though on the smaller side; however, the flavors are exceptional. The Samurai steak beef, as pictured below, is incredibly juicy and tender. Although it isn’t high-end Wagyu or Angus beef, the taste is surprisingly similar. Paired with garlic rice, it makes for a delightful combination that truly satisfies your palate. The Stairway to Heaven sushi roll is both visually appealing and delicious as well. The staff is friendly, and there is plenty of parking available. Please note that electronic payments made with a card will incur a 1% surcharge, and transactions on Sundays and public holidays come with an additional 10% surcharge. The restrooms in both dining areas are kept clean.
