The Cottonwood Cafe - Oakdale

I was not impressed with my experience. I ordered the roast beef sandwich and ate half of it on the first day, putting the other half in the fridge. However, when I went to eat the remainder the next day, the meat had an unusual color and smelled spoiled. I took a small bite to check and, sure enough, it had gone bad. It seems they keep their meat right up until the spoilage date. I was very disappointed. Additionally, the sandwich wasn't that great to begin with. I might return and try something else, but if that doesn’t work out, I’ll be finished with this place.

The staff was so sweet and friendly the food was surprisingly amazing the ambiance of the outdoors seating was beautiful I'm only upset that I'm only experiencing now instead of sooner definitely recommend checking it out

I took my 85-year-old friend, who has memory issues, out for lunch at this restaurant. It's a self-service establishment where you order at the bar and have to get your own silverware and drinks, which posed a challenge for us. I had to go look for the silverware myself. Once we were seated, our food was brought to our table, and I must say our sandwiches were delicious; we really enjoyed the meal. We were seated near the kitchen, and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. However, the man at the front who greets you when you arrive was not very warm or welcoming. He wasn’t outright rude, but he was certainly abrupt. He seemed to mumble and bark at us, showing a lack of patience with my friend. Because of the self-service nature of the restaurant and the greeting we received, I wouldn’t recommend this place for seniors who may need a bit more support. I did notice they have patio dining in the back, which might offer a better experience.

This restaurant is ideally situated for a quick lunch or sandwich before heading to Yosemite! The owner is very friendly, and the outdoor patio is great for any weather. There are plenty of sandwich options on the menu—I tried the chicken pesto sandwich with soup, and both were fresh and delicious. If they offered coffee, it would be the perfect spot!

The inside place is kinda small but nice. They have a nice bar area. There is also a good selection of alcohol. I ordered a flavored beer which was pretty good.Their patio area is very decent in size. They do have umbrellas outside in case it's tooSunny and nice benches to sit on. The plus is that they also have heating lamps outside. They do need a little more lightsoutside. Other than that it's a great place to eat at.
