I’ll be remembering the Pickled Mackerel Caesar Salad for a long time. Each dish surpassed the one before it, and many were cooked right in front of us on a charcoal grill. The entire staff, from the chef to the servers, were top-notch. It was an incredible experience. My partner has a strawberry allergy, and not only did they accommodate her in one of the desserts, but she even claimed it tasted better than the strawberry version! I tried both, and while I disagreed, you have to choose your battles, right? I can’t wait to return. Oh, and the cocktail I ordered was absolutely fantastic. Overall, the best time to visit this restaurant was yesterday, and the second best time is today. If you can, definitely go!
The food was beautifully presented, featuring a delightful array of beef, fish, octopus, and pork, complemented by two delectable desserts to finish the meal. The cocktails are expertly crafted, with one being refreshing and the other packing a spicy punch. The atmosphere is somewhat casual due to the open kitchen design, allowing diners to see their food being prepared. The smoky aroma from the barbecue pit enhances the flavors of the dishes. Service is prompt and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions or for a solo dining experience.
It was my first experience with a tasting menu, and Mago certainly exceeded my expectations. While the dishes aren’t traditional Colombian fare, the chefs elevate them to a whole new level. Each item on the tasting menu was unique, and the presentation was impeccably done. The flavors and ingredients were incredibly fresh and full of taste. We also sampled the non-alcoholic drinks, which were outstanding; I'm sure their cocktails are equally amazing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!
Great atmosphere with a wide open kitchen and a cool, high-ceilinged space. Beverage pairing was excellent, especially the cocktails (wasn 't as impressed by the wine pairings). Dishes were all good, but only some were 'great ', in my opinion. Lamb shank in particular was a bit too rich, with large globs of fat, and no side dishes to cut through it at all. Standouts were the arepas and the blood orange sorbet. Would go again, but I 'm not expecting a Michelin star just yet.
Amazing food and drinks. They change their tasting menu daily! Food was fresh, unique, and I love how the chef incorporates seasonal vegetables. A new favorite spot.
