So, this place will be a Fro Yo in 6 months if the owner continues on the trajectory I witnessed tonight. I received a calzone flatter than most runway models in Paris. There was literally nothing inside this calzone. When we complained, the manager or owner came to our table and said we had to still pay for the flattened calzone. He accused us of eating most the inside which is not true. Plus it was doughy, which I didn't even complain about. Bad customer service, bad food, stay away!
Amazingly tasty food and cappuccino! As good as anywhere in Italy. The chef specializes in truffle based dishes (which weren't on the menu), and he made a fantastically balanced ravioli with shrimp and truffle sauce for me. The cappuccino was so fluffy and flavorful; definitely masterfully made. The rest of my party had pizza, which is Naples style thin and crunchy, panini, which was huge and I'm told delicious, a chicken parm sandwich, which I was also told was delicious. The kids had the spaghetti and meatballs, also huge, and ravioli, very tasty, but the only thing kind of small. The cannoli was delicious too! Overall winner restaurant. I recommend ordering directly with the chef (and not from the Americanized menu).
Review is only for take out. I stopped at 430 and asked for slices. They were out..... Already? Not making any for a Friday night dinner rush? Okay. Only two pie sizes, personal and large. The staff doesn't even acknowledge me, while they sit around at a table doing, uh well not much. A boy walked out with a pie and said, thanks. No one acknowledged him. You can get better service and options elsewhere. ETA the super rude staff thought they could call me out on my review after I paid an ungodly $20 for pizza. With oil ans basil after I asked for just cheese. Gotta love it.
For lunch,I had their home-made chicken soup where the pasta seemed cooked to order. The broth had fresh herbs, chicken, carrots, celery, and was rich yellow and flavorful. The La Madrina panini was made with fresh chicken, arugula, veggies, and home-made bread made fresh daily. And that was just lunch! I can't wait to go back for dinner!! I also will try their catering menu. Excellent fresh food!! Patrice
