The filling was unbalanced, with too much cheese and not enough spinach. The menu at SouvlakiBar may be Greek-oriented, but it lacks authenticity and care in terms of taste. Compared to my experiences at the legendary Parthenon restaurant in Chicago in the 1970s, where the food and atmosphere were truly memorable, SouvlakiBar falls short. The menu at SouvlakiBar does not meet my expectations for Greek cuisine.
The meat at Mateo's was good, but the gyro in general was extremely dry. I managed to finish it, but I'm not sure if it's worth recommending. The tzatziki sauce had to be doubled at least to make it satisfactory.
This restaurant is difficult to enjoy. It puts other places to shame. Even though I don't usually like hummus, I enjoyed it here! I love the Greek bowls, and my friend loves the wraps. The staff is also distant.
I loved it! had a great Greek family celebration. ordered several family dishes and everyone thoroughly enjoyed eating. it was all nicely packed and ready to serve. it will definitely diffamate again.
The Chicago gyro and Souvlaki bowls are SO good. I like their thick, creamy hummus and taste of the food.. it's exactly what I want in a pita, tzatziki, meat... I add lettuce on mine too. If you're vegetarian they have great bowls without meat.Great portion sizes. Strong work ethic from staff...super clean ever time we go.
