Food was very good and fresh, and the selection of drinks quite impressive for a small pub located in a strip plaza in Oakville. The only downside was that the beer I wanted on tap was not available, but there were plenty others to choose from.
A group went early evening on Fathers Day and was surprised it wasn't busier but our good luck. Special offer on wings was gratefully accepted and all were impressed. Good range of beers* but as for a British pub - only superficially as too many TV's and whilst there are a lot of beers not that many from the UK.Great spot though and will go back.
This local 'pub' is likely fine as a watering hole but we gave that up 20+ years ago. I find the food to be average at best since I prefer food with spice and flavour. Friends of ours like the food and especially the nachos but I have never found anything else on the menu that is good enough to make me want to go back and eat it again and again. The inside is in need of a referb and is dark and dingy so as to not show the wear and tear and stains on the furniture and flooring. Service is consistently good and they have lots of different beer on tap. Maybe there is a reason that it was not as busy on a Friday night as it used to be.
I live fairly close to this place and I personally love it...it's exactly what you'd expect from a neighbourhood pub: good food, friendly staff, good beer. I'm a personal fan of the bangers and mash but the nachos are pretty awesome as well. It's not the Taj Mahal but it isn't supposed to be...it's unapologetically simple. And quite honestly, that is its appeal.
Part of a large strip mall and on entering it definitely is English although as there was a Glasgow Rangers emblem on the wall it is quite inclusive of Scotland too my husband felt right at home when we heard the chaps in the corner with broad Scottish accents !! Just popped in for a beer and G&Ts .. lovely half hour ! Didn't eat but portions looked large and tasty may go back for pub lunch.
