The Firehall Cool Bar Hot Grill

This is a great place to stop in for lunch when we are out on the bike. It has a nice big patio, great food and quick service.

We had driven by this restaurant several times and finally went in on a Saturday evening at 5PM to check the wings on a suggestion of a friend. Got a seat right away and the wings were the best that we have had in many years. Jake was our server and he was great. Great service, fantastic and HUGE wings and the fried dill's were very nice and crunchy. We will be back.

If your vegetarian then this place only has two options - quesadillas and a vege currie. Service was a bit slow. Our server wasn't very attentive with the kids bottomless drinks, but gave him the benefit of the doubt as he seemed new to the position. On the plus side, the food was wholesome and well presented and the place was clean and tidy. We went in a Thursday night, so maybe another day and time would result in a different experience so would try it again.

We decided to give the Firehall another chance after having a less than positive experience a year earlier. The decor and menu have since changed but I wouldn't say for the better. Everything was average, at best. You would assume that a place that has a kids ride at the entrance would be welcoming to families but the service was more serious than friendly. The food was okay but was only lukewarm. There was no offer to get the kids new drinks, the kids menu has never returned to what it once was either and there was no interaction from our server. Overall, I would say average but likely not worth a return visit!

My son recommend we come try this place as this is a favourite of his cousin's. The atmosphere was good and staff very friendly and helpful. The calamari is a starter but my son had that for lunch it was light and crispy, My husband had the fish and chips he liked his and I asked for a small house salad with the balsamic dressing on the side as I am watching my calorie intake. The salad was nicely presented and fresh we all liked our meals and left happy and full ready for a long walk on lakeshore. I will come back and have dinner next visit.
