We walked passed this place at lunch and decided to give it a go. WOW!!! The food was simply the best I have eaten outside of India, the Kolapuri chicken (spicy) was immense, I would seriously advise you to try this - you will not be disappointed. The Decor is very basic & more of a canteen feel but the food - the food is worth it for sure. 10 out of 10 for the food, 5 out of 10 for the decor.
We have walked through this courtyard several times over visits to Oaxaca and decided to try the Hindu restaurant .We ordered Dal, chicken tikka masala and sag paneer and it was all super good and very light. The portions were small and perfect for savoring the taste of everything without being overwhelming. We were delightfully surprised and will be back as it nice to take a break in Mexico and try some other spices once in a while. There are some interesting stores ( antiques, etc) and a cooking school here.
Muy bien preparada la comida, sabrosa, sabrosa! La atención también excelente y el lugar súper céntrico y fácil de llegar. Si algo sería que las porciones sean más grandes, con tan rica comida, se queda uno con ganas de más.
I love and crave Indian food, have lived in India, and eaten from the highest to the lowest- this was utterly amazingly bad. I ordered lamb rogan josh and couldn't figure out what it was, seriously. I also had to order rice which was about 2 table-spoons full. There was no spice at all! no raita or chutneys of any sort available; it was the most Spartan meal I everate and I wouldn't have eaten it at all if I hadn't been starving. No alcohol available- Iordered a chai- don't expect them to offer you more! I definitely passed on desserts and got out of there as fast as I could. Lost in a minuscule mini-mall, no atmosphere, the owner ignored me ( only customer ) while on his cell-phone while an adolescent did her best. This cost, with small tip, around $15CAD.!!! This- in Mexico! I literallycan't believe the positive reviews and wonder if I went to a different planet. At least Ididn't get sick which- considering the " lamb " was grey-white- I fully expected to be.Not recommended by me!
