To snow outside could not see, so a drink went in. I really welcome no pressure to order until we were willing to let us sit and enjoy the atmosphere. lunch, when ordered, was in our tempo and really good.
Found this place because we met with our kids for their snowboarding course there for lunchtime. they praised eating so much that we were curious and in fact, we were surprised to find the fresh, home cooking style version of the usual ski area. spends it. plus great house cake made. in addition a very cozy environment and extremely friendly staff. I want to go back!
If you are in the area of Nebelhorn you shouldn`t miss this DAV Hütte where you get on the top of the stunning views a good quality local food for fair prices. All together with a friendly staff super!
The Edmund Probst house is on the Nebelhorn on the last cable car stop before the summit. It is right next to the cable car station, but a separate house. Both, cable car station and Edmund Probst Haus serve food, but the style is pretty...different. The cable car station is for the masses with a focus on high throughput. Edmund Probst house on the other hand is more relaxed, with a nicer atmosphere and operated by the Deutscher Alpen Verein (German Mountaineer Society). There is a small terrace to the south with outside sitting, but there is also plenty of space inside. Food is very good with a good selection of different things. I tried the soup with Maultaschen and enjoyed them. For dessert I had a cake of the day. Service was good as well, but given the inside seating is spanning multiple rooms, it might sometimes take a bit before the next service person is available again at least during the rush hours at lunch time.
