We also loved exploring the area, which boasted stunning scenery. The staff made us feel very welcomed and well taken care of. We look forward to returning in the future!
The restaurant offers pick up and drop off services to and from the train station. They also provide transportation to an onsen, which is included in the price. The futon was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious!
Located overlooking the Iya River Gorge, this welcoming Eco guesthouse offers cozy accommodations in Japanese style tatami rooms with futons, along with delicious food. The price includes a vegan dinner and breakfast, as well as daily pick-up service from the local station (Oboke) and a daily visit to a nearby wellness hotel. The meals, in generous macrobiotic style, feature local ingredients like buckwheat, radishes, and delicately flavored green tea sourced from nearby fields. Host Nori and many of the staff speak English and are incredibly friendly. The views are stunning, and there are charming historic sites to explore on day trips, made even more convenient with a local bus day pass. For guests looking for a more relaxed experience, a leisurely stroll along the river, village exploration, and sampling local products like tea, soba noodles, and persimmons could provide enough sightseeing. Pair these activities with a visit to the onsen and relaxation in the communal area, where you can savor tea or spring water while enjoying the view of the steep, forested mountainside in Kunelasob. Accommodation options include private double rooms and dormitories, all with futon bedding. (Review last updated on October 28, 2015)
