Celebrity’s Soul Food Ocala

We made a reservation for four at 6 PM and arrived on time, only to find a sign outside indicating that the restaurant only serves large groups or catering events. When we went inside, the waitress confirmed that they cater exclusively to big parties. This was frustrating, and I think OpenTable should update their listing accordingly. We left feeling very disappointed.

On Friday at 5:30 PM, we drove for an hour to reach the restaurant, only to find the doors locked and closed for a private event. We were very disappointed, especially since they should have mentioned being closed for reservations.

Fun place! The food was great and so was the atmosphere. Great spot to try. The wings and the grouper were amazing. The Caesar salad was delicious.

The ambience was really nice and the service was great. The punch was good but the food lacked a soul food flavor and was on the bland side. When I think of soul food, I think of something that will arouse my senses (sight, smell and taste) and awaken my taste buds. This place did not do that for me and I was very disappointed. I wish them success but I will not be eating there again.

This is a quaint restaurant with a great ambiance. I had reservations was seated right away bit it too a long time before the server arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine that was listed on the menu but the server brought out an entirely different wine (our request was red she brought white), we ordered another choice. The food was very tasty the serving size was huge. Our server was great, however I feel the manager should have come out when we had the mixup with the wine also just greet the guest to make sure everything was OK. I will visit again.
