The Dam Denmark - OCEAN BEACH

(April 2024) Initial review was 2 years ago (see below) however we just came again April 2024 and the place isn't the same!!! The service was lacking, menu change (is a given) but the food did not look like the original photos back from 2022 when it first opened. Kids chicken and chips were over fried, husband's steak was okay but the food came out in 10 mins (always makes me worry). No one bothered to sell us any of the products from the store (we sat there looking) and the man who's clearly hired to sell those products did speak to the couple before us but then proceeded to move boxes around on a trolley not even once a hi or greeting. Reading other comments it's not the same and the service isn't the same either. Such a shame. Very overpriced food now too. The photos from 2022 you can see how wonderful the presentation was. When we came in 2022 we met the owner, you could see the passion he had but sadly I wonder if it's still there! (October 2022) This place is a gem. Someone recommended it and we went and we weren’t disappointed. The place sells some CBD infused products and we walked out with two bottles of gin and also a CBD infused ginger beer (no THC). The girl who served us (jaz) was so lovely and knew a lot about the products. The food topped it all off, pictures is the Marron and Lamb Shoulder, however the chips and the adult burger were also divine. Massive area for the kids to play which is also a winner. Will definitely be back! Can’t wait to see how far this place goes in the future with their choices of products etc. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Not many options on menu, but everything we had was absolutely delicious. Play ground was great, venue was cool with a great vibe. Staff were friendly but there wasnt enough of them for easter weekend. Shouldnt take 20+ min at the bar to order drinks. This venue is gorgeous. I only wish we could have spent more time here! Luckily there is a great variety in the store to take home! Highly recommend the Hotel Sandia and the Elderflower Blossom. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A lovely setting and very nice place to spend a lazy afternoon in the Denmark/Albany region. Playgrounds and open areas for the kids, and a lovely indoor space that really uses its gorgeous outlook well. The service is to be commended as they were very helpful with a tricky little issue and generally very happy to help. We were a bit hungry to photograph the food! Nonetheless the Pie was a standout. Kid-friendliness: Lots of space for the kids to run about including a playground and outdoor spaces to eat.
