Rosie's - Ocean Gate

First time at Rosie's and lived up to expectations. Food was superb, service was efficient and refreshing, will return!!

We went here for my birthday . The atmosphere is very nice. It is a pretty restaurant . We started off with a cocktail which was a blackberry margarita, delish. For appetizers we had lobster bisque and Caesar salad both were delicious , the lobster bisque had chunks of lobster in it. Then we had our entrees. We had short ribs with baby asparagus and mashed potatoes and penne bolanaise. Short ribs were out of this world yummy, asparagus was cooked perfectly Al dente, and the mashed were like whipped cream so light and fluffy. The penne had pieces of short rib in it which made it very tasty and delicioso . Lastly the dessert, it was my birthday so the staff came out singing happy birthday with a very big sparkler on top of my pignoli cake with vanilla ice cream. The cake was delicious, however what I wanted was the homemade tiramisu , unfortunately they were all out of it, maybe next time. We also had the key lime pie which was extremely fresh and delicious. To end the perfect night I had an espresso with sambuca as a night cap. Perfecto! Did I mention everything was Delicious ?! Two very satisfied diners, we will be back.

I went with high expectations, shame on me! We went for our anniversary and was greeted by a friendly staff who sat us in the bar area, dining room didn't open till 4:00pm, should have checked. The staff was not, in my opinion dressed appropriately. The food was mostly overcooked, with much, too much garnish while the meat was grainy with too much fat, couldn't enjoy a forkful without removing part of the meat to the side of the plate. Dessert was good. This place is in Ocean Gate NJ yet charges Manhattan prices. Appetizers, two main courses, deserts and two cocktails, with tip $200. Sorry, won't be back!

Overall experience was great. First time here. Service was fantastic they really went above and beyond. Celebrated a birthday and the staff was so kind. Salmon was delicious! The seasonal salad was disappointing. Overly dressed and I didn’t realize it had bacon chunks (fatty bacon) the dressing tased very similar to Big Mac sauce and it just wasn’t something I would order again. Parking is tight! Ended up parking on a side street. But overall beautiful place. Will return
