The Windmill - Ocean Grove

I had a wonderful experience! We were attended to by Fifi, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She even took some great pictures of my daughter and me! We also really love the new design of the restaurant!

Fantastic location! This windmill-themed restaurant was wonderful, featuring incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. The burgers were incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the chili dog was absolutely amazing! We also tried their loaded fries, which were equally tasty. Great job, Windmill!

I’ve made it a point to support Windmill and have shared their story with my family and friends, who are now eager to become customers as well. The food is better than typical fast food options, with their hot dogs being particularly well-known. Let’s support a company that gives back to the community, especially to this special clientele. Good dining at Windmill!

Every time I go, it seems that a worker always has an attitude. The older cashier was very nice. All I ordered was cheese rice and asked them to be done well aka crispy. I get the frits and I can't help, but think the cook deliberately gave me the slightly fried French frits I've ever had. The frits were literally white, not even a little golden or crispy, let alone everything nearby as I asked. When I came home, they were so sweet and limp. And the worst part is that I even tipped them (before I got my food obviously), but that is the last straw, will not come back.

I don't like giving a 1 star but after last night I really feel it's necessary. We dined there in 2021 and the food was delicious and the restaurant was very clean, hands down a 4+ star experience. July of 2022 not so much, the food was overcooked to the point of having very little flavor, the burger was beyond charred. The young girl on the grill has no idea how to prepare food. The fries seemed like they were pre cooked and heated up when we ordered. The dogs were overcooked and dry and the dining area had dirty tables. Considering we were the only customers and there was three employees I find that unacceptable. Normally I wouldn't waste my time writing this negative review, I just wouldn't go back, but I'm doing it in the hope that the owners will take corrective action and turn it around before people start realizing that they are paying a pretty hefty price for some sub par food. Sorry but I hope this changes things, I would hate to see it close down because there aren't many places to get a good dog and burger anymore.
