I only ordered (1) tamale to try the food at this restaurant/market. It is one of the best tamales I have ever had. Most important, the masa was moist and the pork filling was delicious!
I would encourage anyone who gave this restaurant 5 stars to actually go inside and confirm if there are cockroaches present, either on the side or in the food. Disgusting! I would not eat anything from this place even if you paid me, I would pay you to avoid it. Not even a desperate dog would eat this low-quality food.

Not being the biggest mole fan when it comes to mexican food, I tried my first tamale today from Los Tamales and it was chicken mole. What a great surprise it was. Just the right amount of distinctive mole flavor that highlighted the deep, slow cooked chicken flavors much better than I had expected. You can taste the rich, home made flavors that blend together perfectly with their super yummy masa that is the star here. This is no grocery store masa, this is the real deal. They serve the tamal with an earthy red salsa with some horsepower in it, then a nice blop of guac and a side of freshly made tortilla chips to scoop up all the awsomeness you may have missed with your fork. There are a lot of layers of flavors in this dish that make it interesting to taste. So many layers in fact that you can't taste it all in the first few bites, it takes four or five for me at least to register all those flavors. I like salsas with a kick and they are not shy about the heat on my plate. These tamales are big, steamed in either corn husks or banana leaves and they offer a really tasty non-meat version too for my non-carnivorous friends. I spoke to the owner as I ate and learned that they will be reopening their restaurant for the fall and Holiday season. I will be taking my special lady there to try some of their other flavors like the pork and their special pineapple tamal, and I'm interested in all their salsa options.
