After a lovely chat with the owner, affectionately known as Fat Pete by some, I discovered that they have been in business for 8 years and pride themselves on sourcing the best ingredients from everywhere. I had the opportunity to sample their pizzas and I was blown away by every bite. The thin crust was a delight, freshly made and flavored with herbs. I admired their commitment to quality ingredients and technique. I visited with some Italian friends, and we were all so captivated by the divine pizza that we fell silent. The deli was well-stocked with fresh meats, cheeses, and vegetables. They even offered pizza dough for sale, so you can recreate their delicious pizzas at home. Their selection of wines was impressive too. The fish and chips also came highly recommended. I can't wait to go back. Their Nipa hat accommodation is a budget-friendly option for backpackers in the Tablas Island area.
This is the only restaurant where a non-local can enjoy an Angus steak or other delicious dishes. Pete, the Irish owner, goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. They offer a wide selection of local and imported wines, including roses, reds, and whites. Yummy!
The service was slow and the waitress appeared to be inexperienced. The owner was seen sitting in a chair by the entrance, watching TV and not doing much else. The food was subpar compared to recommendations from a local in Tablas. I would not dine there again. Cats freely roamed around inside and under the tables, which the owner found cute. Thankfully, we discovered better restaurants in Tablas and dined there for the remainder of our visit.
The food was not as good as the recommendation we received. Owner sits in the door and watched TV and employees work. I really took care of the need. I ate there a few times for breakfast and dinner. There were cats roaming inside.
I don't understand why this amazing restaurant/deli seems to be treated like one of the best kept island secrets. After a lovely chat with the owner (lovingly called "Fat Pete" by some), I learned that this place has been in operation for 8 years, sourcing the best of the best ingredients from all over. I got a chance to try their pizzas and I couldn't help but fall in love with EVERY bite. The thin pizza crust was a dream: it was freshly made and infused with herbs. I appreciate how they don't skimp on the quality of the ingredients or their technique. I visited the place with Italians (in photo), and the divinity of the pizza did keep us silent (due to the intense focus on the food). Moving on to their deli: it is well stocked with meats, cheeses and veggies (sourced on the island -- which means it's fresh). The pizza dough was also available for sale, so making your own pizza at home is an option. Plus, they also have a beautiful collection of wine & liquor as well. The fish and chips was also highly recommended. I look forward to coming back again (and again). They also have a nipa hut available (for backpackers even), if by chance you'd need a really reasonable place to stay while in this area of Tablas island.
