Visited the Corte Inglés shop for a oate dinner. I am crazy about soup and I had already had soup at Loja das Sopas in Faro and also in their shop at Armazéns do Chiado, in Lisbon. I always liked them, however my last experience at Corte Inglés shop was very disappointing. The lady serving (May 5th, at around 10pm) was a total put off, she never smiled, rushed me and my husband, who doesnt speak Portuguese, to choose his meal, and then I ordered the Tarte menu soup, salad and pie: the lady was very impatient and I could not even choose my salad properly, I ended up choosing the very first item I saw same with my husband. The pie (chicken) was DREADFUL! Horrible really, I couldnt eat it. It was mushy, cold, with the chicken kind of pureéd with streaks of carrots. Yuk! The soup was bland, no salt, tasted like hospital food. Result: left 90% on my plate and went back to hotel hungry. Never again!
We visited the Loja das Sopas at the Vasco da Gama mall near the Parque de Nacoes. We had also recently visited the one at the mall in Faro. In these malls there are lots of choices in the food courts, including the usual KFC, McD etc. But give them a miss and try some soup! This time we each had a menu which included a large bowl of soup, a tasty baguette packed with tuna, plus a soft drink, all for €5.40. Our soup was called Sopa da Pedra, a thick concoction of beans, veg and chunks of pork, actually more like a stew. Delicious too, as was the sandwich. The staff were friendly and helpful, the service quick and the value unbeatable. You take your food and sit in a communal area where people are eating from all the outlets and I actually felt sorry for those eating their sorry-looking meals from McD's while we tucked into some proper food!
El servicio muy muy lento. La comida bien sin más.
We were in the Lisbon Vasco de Gama Mall, and stopped by this shop for lunch. We tried the soup and sandwich/quiche option. The quiche was OK, but that is the best complement we can give. The soup was actually pretty good, but just a step above canned soup. Credit cards accepted, not a lot of smiles to be had by the staff. For the price it was good..what more can we say..? Mahalo
