Has a nice atmosphere and friendly employees. What made us choose this hotel and take this route on our trip was because canines are allowed. Every year we drive to southern norway, but because of children we need a place to sleep. So we were looking for our goto place for sleep twice a year for the next 15 years. But we came once and we will never return. The night was horrible. Thin walls, can hear the neighbours breathing. There was alot of banging noise. Close resemblance to sleeping at a mechanics workshop. Our room was located right above the sauna, which heats up our room. We turned off the ovens, the floor heating, even the refridgerator because it too produces heat. The windows were fully opened to allow all of the nighttime sunlight inside and some fresh air. Outside was a nice cool 6°, inside our room a sweltering 26°. The only way to make the room livable with some cross breeze was to open the door into the hallway. which would allow people to watch us sleeping. The window is next to the parking lot so there too would be peepers. But, we 'd rather open the window and curtains allowing passersby to glimpse into our privacy than to wake up as raisins. The sauna is on all day and allegedly shuts down at 9pm. My 8 month old son bedtime is 7pm. But he, as his parents and even the furry companion struggled with slumber. A total of 4 hours of sleep from 2100-0700. Lots of baby crying, problem fixing by jerry rigging the window with door jammers, towels to block sight, fan to circulate the arid air. We imagined an idyllic sleepover ontop of the cold and vast norwegian mountain range with the fresh arctic breeze.. but the whole endeavor brought me right back to the scorching heat of the peruvian jungles. At 03:30 i thought it was best to just check out and drive the last 5 hours of our journey than to endure the rest of the night, i looked over at my girlfriend and she had already thought of it and was checking google maps for route and traveltime to our destination. Too tired to do anything so we tried to sleep some more. The food was ok, we were the first to the dinner which cost 449 nok for food which obviously has been cooked several hours ago. The potatoes were tough, meat was dry and leather like at the edges from being heated for 4-5 hours. The hotel obviously lacks capacity to serve regular menus to the guests so they serve old buffets for a blood price. Needless to say, After this night we were the first one to attend the breakfast. The eggs were slimy, desserts purchased from regular grocery stores And the apple juice spout was obviously unclean as it deposited a large chunk of mould into my cup. The butter which is served is hard, rips up your bread when tried to spread. I could probably have built my house 's foundation from those butter bricks. No wonder why there were so many toothless residents. Rest of the food i tasted was decent. After complaining at 8:30pm, we were offered a room in the damp basement. Our son had finally fallen asleep after a long struggle, unpacked several bags of female baggage, groceries, our dog and his luggage. Needless to say, relocation was out of the question unless the employees carry our luggage. We were however offered a football sized fan to alleviate our torment. At checkout we were not offered any discount, only offer was and i quote if you come back then we could maybe try to help . Final price 3,200kr for 1 sleepless night and mediocre buffet for 2.
In one of the apartments, so not in the hotel. everything just to foot and traffic is safe at this time when year. the breakfast was okay. typical continental and Nordic foods. other institutions were really good. many adventure activities. swimwear and hiking shoes for the summer.
The park seems beautiful. there are 4 supermarkets, just a few minutes away by car. enough restaurants and caffeine. the house we have was a mess. on the balcony was a dirty sock. chalk and a half empty crisp bottle from the previous occupant under the tv-cocabor. many kitchen appliences were covered with crumbs and dust, some sticky. when we wanted to use the coffee machine, there was a filter with coffee powder, which was poured into the inner. Large. and the dishwasher turned out to be still full of dirty, but was also completely wet. looks like it was switched on but not finished, it is washing cycle. there was also this old looking hood that was missing the light bulb, and at the highest power hardly does anything. and all the cabinets are filled with scrap that appears in phase. the apartment was clearly not properly checked before entering. very unprofessional.
The rooms are very utilitarian, the beds were averaged, everything was very 80s, but that was good, restaurant was decent, they have EV chargers (but they are not usable by foreigners) and great out view.
