Gmeiner Confiserie - Offenburg

In the Black Forest we had to have the Black Forest cherry cakes and I had them here. I have a magnificent piece. My wife and son had big cakes. All were excellent and so I had the milk coffee. Stronger than what you usually do in France.

Very nice selection of really intense and beautiful tasting coffees. I love the Cappuchino they serve. Together with a croissant, this is a perfect starter to the day. Your bakeries are excellent. Vast selection and it is hard to limit what you buy.

I always try and have a coffee and cake at Cafe Gmeiner when in the area but this time I was really disappointed. The cappuccino tasted like it came from a machine and my Butterbrezel was dry. My husband and daughter had scrambled eggs and...eggs and ham which were both okay but nothing to write home about. Service was slow. Will not visit again in the near future.

Of course, there are others on the main place, with lovely terrasse, but here(even with a small terrasse in front of the shop), it's a real baker's shop who has many tea rooms in the area outside town and abroad. Stop by for choices of coffee and tea or take a hot chocolate.,without speaking about cakes! Due to the big popularity, the service is long, and if you arrive after 4PM, you won't find any black forest's cake ....

Staff helped explain each of the cakes available. They then give you a ticket with your choice that the waiting staff take when getting your order (cleaver idea).The cakes were very good and they give you a decent cup of tea. As expect the coffee was good - never had a bad cup of coffee ever in Germany!
