We 're locals, so we know that dining options are VERY limited in Venango County, but we appreciate the old school ambiance and casual atmosphere at our favorite don 't wanna get dressed up, spur of the moment dining out local establishment. The servers are super efficient and friendly, especially if you know the routine ...and many of them have been there for 20+ years which explains having a routine! The pasta dishes are delish with a slightly sweet sauce, but expect reasonable portions with minimal leftovers (a plus for those of us inclined to overindulge). Basic beer and wine selections are available our go to is a carafe of valpolicella. The pizza is also fantastic if you enjoy a thick chewy crust. Finally, order the garlic bread. It 's my very favorite in the entire world, and not to be missed! It is cash only, but if you have your checkbook that works too!
Seems like a great place for subs and pizza. My partner grew up in oil city so of course he had to take me here. I hear they have the best cheese sticks, and cheap beer/wine. Maybe not the best spot for a vegetarian. We ordered the kraut balls, they had ham in them. I also ordered clam chowder, and it was scalding on the outside and cold on the inside. My salad was just tomatoes, onions and iceberg lettuce. Cash only, indoor and outdoor seating available. Waitress wore mask, but some patrons did not and I noticed staff in kitchen area not wearing masks properly.
Food, service, O K. Others recommended but I eat gluten free the bread it's too tempting also, my eating out budget is limited.
I love this place! I live in Charleston SC and every time I come to Oil City I come here. I always get the same thing, fried cauliflower and a ham/cheese sub w/ lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. Always so good and always the same consistency. The oil and parm cheese sit on the table which I add to my sub for extra goodness. The Villa Italia has been around ever since I can remember and I'm sure well before that. Nothing has changed but doesn't need to. Staying the same is what makes it work. And They are open 24hrs! They have a 2 drink limit so there's no loud people or sitters. If you live in or ever come to Oil City this place is a must eat at!
