Garrison's Seafood Express Ojai

I've been waiting to try this place and I'm so glad I finally did. Growing up in the PNW, fish n chips is like a religion to me. Living in CA, it's difficult to find fish n chips like the ones I'm used to. I have a feeling their focus here leans a little toward Southern style cuisine (catfish hush puppies. . That's not my cup of tea. BUT, they offer beer battered cod chips so I had to have that. The beer batter was above average. Not thick or greasy. The cod was delicious, generous and perfectly cooked. I mean perfectly. The steak fries are tasty. The tartar sauce is good it's got a sweet pickle flair. I will definitely return to order take out because the food is good and the help are friendly. I'd love this place even more if they made one change give half the amount of fries and add a cup of coleslaw. Still, no complaints. Nice addition to Ojai restaurants.

I called in my order. It was ready in 10 minutes. Staff and customers were wearing masks. Fish (catfish), shrimp and chips were amazing. Great service! Thank you!

I like this place... It is convenient, fairly affordable and tasty. Clean facility and lovely service. I would definitely recommend for Garrison 's to begin offering coleslaw and fruit salad or other fresh green salads to balance out the naughty but nice fried food! If the fresh green options were added, more happy customers would visit! Right?

Yummy! I am very sensitive to oil that has been used too long in the fryer! This is not the case with these guys, their food is clean! If they could find a spot in downtown Ojai their business with boom!

I hate to disregard a newer, local business and still feel appropriate to review this restaurant. The food is basic, not particularly tasty and limited options. Knowing this is a fried food place, there are still no minimally healthy items. The fish is manufactured as can be determined by the fact that every piece is the same shape and size. We thought we'd try it and even accepted the unhealthy reality. The next day felt terrible; not because the food was spoiled, just because it was fried and so heavy. This will appeal to many people, just not people who really like tasty food.
