Excel Okayama

Perfect location to stay for a night to visit the okayama castle and Korakuen (one of the 3 famous park in japan), or a side visit to kurashii old town. Small is cosy and offer million dollar view to the castle. Japanese breakfast is superb too. (Buffet with many local speciality) Only downside is it’s far from main station. (100yen for 3 stop tram ride). Carrying big luggage is quite a challenge for the tram.

Really good hotel, friendly service and very good view to see Okayama castle. Also for female guests, we can choose our favorite shampoo from 1st, it’s so sweet.

We accidentally booked the smoking room (we don't smoke) the room and whole floor stunk of smoke. In terms of the room its quite old but not too small. Enough space to move around and open 2 suitcases. Bathroom size was reasonable aswell. Location is about a 5 minute tram ride from Okayama station which will cost you 120 yen. Walking it's about 15-20 minute walk along the main street. There are quite a few restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance. Okayama castle is also only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Good location, a solid breakfast and nice staff. The coffee's awful, but you don't go to Japan for the coffee. Had trouble with the aircon being that my Japanese isn't up to much, but that's hardly their fault. It's a good hotel for a fair price. Not fancy, but it's extremely well situated. I was lucky enough to have a view of the castle

A great hotel! It has the feel of the 70s. It still operates with the old-fashioned key, not the modern card key! The amenities were adequate, but not particularly good (the toilette seat wasn't heated for the winter But the breakfast was excellent. I was too full to taste everything A particularly good feature was that they had some locally produced veggies If you are nostalgic about the good time, this is it!
