Even after last couple of attempts (that weren’t the greatest) we tried to make this place work for us. Because this place was always our family favorite for many years but has declined over the past few years. Service and mainly the pizza. We got a large cheese as we always did with wings. We noticed it has considerably shrunk to more of a medium-small. It used to overflow on the pan it comes in. Now has inches missing all around and is equivalent to maybe a tortilla in thickness. At best. They charge you for a 32oz drink, but drinks are served in 20oz cups. Don’t dare ask for a to-go cup you’ll be paying another $3+ for that. Lady manger/owner is not professional. To say the least. Made a huge scene over a simple question I asked. Lost a family of customers. But by the looks of it we are just a few of many, judging by the most recent reviews. If you already had a bad experience here. Don’t think it will get better next time, it won’t. Trust the recent reviews from locals. They kept the name for the reason, to keep customers. But this is NOT the same business as this town once knew. All the consistent good reviews are from years ago when it was ran and operated by someone that knew what they were actually doing. New lady kept the name for a reason (wink). He made this place a staple in the town and she is tarnishing it and loosing customers by the day. Just read the reviews.
I chose to get a cheeseburger today for lunch. I only took a small bite and realized that something tasted very off. I explained to the waitress I could not possibly eat this burger. She took it back and another lady came out and was very rude about it. She stated there wasn’t anything wrong with the burger. She was welcome to take a bite, but didn’t. I explained again that something was off with this burger and I would not eat it. She said I would still be charged for it and that she would put it in a box to take home. I let her know she could do anything she wanted with it, but it would not go home with me. The waitress came back with a to go box with the burger in it and said she was told to bring it to me. I again explained that it would not be with me when I left. When we paid the bill (including this bad tasting burger) it was left on the table as promised. I still had a bad taste in my mouth when I got home an hour later and it took brushing my teeth and lots of mouth wash to get rid of it. As a result of the way we were treated by manager/owner??? The chance of us returning are slim. She made this whole experience very hostile and unpleasant. It could have been handled so much better. Seeing how they have answered other negative reviews, it don’t seem to matter much to them.
First, I LOVE the food here and at the same time i believe the front of the house staff needs to work on being polite at the VERY least. Not a welcoming atmosphere at all. I’ve been a repeat customer of joeys for awhile now because the wings are great, but i’ve had enough of the attitude of the employees. No one greets you when you walk in, not even a hello, smile, or even a head nod. I used to work in the service industry so I always treat employees with respect and try to give them the benefit of the doubt but I’ve had multiple interactions with the girl at the front desk and time and time again she’s rude and short with you and she has no shame in rolling her eyes at you. I hope this is taken as a way to improve your business and not simply an attack. i would love to keep coming but decency is the least to be expected. If this is happening to me how many customers are also feeling this way?
