The food was excellent--steak perfect, halibut also, not easy to cook fish perfectly, but it was--and the sides were excellent. Gourmet cooking, I'd say, but at a good price. The wine list was very small, but the wine was good and the glass filled and then some. Good value indeed. We had a quiet and happy time--compliments to chefs and server.
This restaurant is woefully bad. If you go, you will be paying a significant sum to be their guinea pigs for food and service. All of their food is oversalted and will leave you incredibly thirsty. The tastes of many of the dishes will also turn your stomach. We asked for medium well steak and received rare and we sent it back, then received burnt steak the second time, with a comment from the head chef trying to argue with us it wasn't burnt. Their A/C is also broken so be prepared to eat your food in a sauna like environment.
The restaurant was experiencing air conditioning problems, so it was a little warm. The service was terrible! Our server finally brought water. Disappeared for awhile. I observed him across the dinning room unpacking glassware in an anti-room. When he finally came back to our table, I mentioned that we felt abandoned, He replied sorry, I had to wipe some glasses . We had to ask, and then wait, for a wine list. Our party of 4 waited a long time to get our orders taken. When the wine glasses were empty, there was no server within sight. Still no food! I had to go to a service door and wait for someone to appear to complain that we were being ignored. Our food finally arrived and then while were trying to eat, a manger found his way to our table and wanted to visit! The food was good but the evening was not a pleasant experience. We 've have dined at Chef di Domani many times but I don 't know if we 'll return.
Our tradition for the last several years has been to celebrate several family member's birthdays at Chefs di Domani. We have loved the food, service, and experience! But this year, the service was terrible. The waiter didn't know the menu, didn't bring our food in the right order, and took too long in meeting our needs (like refills, our food in a timely manner, delivering a knife he forgot to bring in the first place). We thought maybe he was new to the school, so we tried to be patient, but then he shared that he is just a few months away from graduating! It appeared that the other tables were having similar experiences with different wait staff. I saw food being returned to the kitchen and a table that seated shortly after us didn't get their food until we were completely finished and waiting for the ticket; maybe an hour and half later. I don't know what specifically has changed in the program, but those changes have not been positive. I used to share with others about this great experience, but I just don't feel I can do that anymore. We are very disappointed that we will need to find a new birthday tradition. That being said, the food was amazing! The ribeye was like butter and the salmon was delicious! We all raved about the flavor of everything we ordered.
Our food was perfect in every way.the steaks were tender as butter. the potatoes were full of flavor. desert was elegant. Every individual that came to our table was charming, I look forward too my next meal here. Thanks to all that served me,
