However, there is a creepy (in your personal space, stares at you, can't remember orders, won't leave your table, etc.) waiter that has been there for about a year (we go once a week). Our last encounter with him was too much. We won't be back until he is gone.
Many moons ago, Las Palomas Mexican Café opened and was a fairly good restaurant. Unfortunately, like many good (non-chained) Mexican restaurants, they close within 3 years or so. Las Palomas Mexican Café opened and re-opened at least 3-times -that I'm aware of. The second and third time, food and service were poor...and were part of a completely different families. Now, along comes another place in the same building, -La Salsa Grille. Could I hope for the same great food and service as there was with Las Palomas Mexican Café? ABSOLUTELY! My father and I stopped in here on Saturday, which were quickly greeted and seated and served with common Tex-Mex affair, chips, salsa, queso and tortillas of choice. My father wanted a dish they didn't readily have on the menu, but they were quick to appease 1 Beef Tamale and 1 Beef Enchilada. I opted in for my favorite, Chile Relleno. We were both surprised with the amount served as well as traditional flavor that was attention catching. However, my father is a little picky and had to send his plate back to add more physical heat to his dish. But that's the only "complaint" we had. No reason not go back....and go back soon.We also appreciated the wait staff. They were friendly and served with a smile.Overall, solid "4" rating.

Update: the last few times we have been here have been disappointing. The server got our orders wrong, didn't seem to really care about serving us and the food was lacking the quality it had previously. My wife and I have been looking for some good mexican food that doesn't blow the bank. While everyone in the metro recommends Teds, we don't live near one now and I have never been impressed with Teds. So friends recommended La Salsa Grille and we loved it. Cheap, good food, friendly staff. The queso and salsa is some of the best in town. I have had a variety of dishes from here and all have been good. And when they being you tortillas there are a lot of tortillas instead of just a few. My only complaint is they don't serve margaritas. Oh well the food is still really good.
Delicious, quick and staff is always smiling and friendly. Whether I dine in or carry-out, the service is quick and food is consistent. Relatively small dining space but it is always clean, tastefully decorated and cozy. Despite the size- I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.
