The hamburgers have to be the best in town; the reuben sandwich is outstanding. The fried pickles appetizer were great. We are in our 70's so the noise was a distraction, but we DO like McNellie's. If possible, sitting at the bar is the best experience.
Husband had the burger and fries, and I had stroganoff. Both were delicious! We went for NYE, and parking was quick. We were running late and they called to confirm the reservation. They were great about holding it, kind all the way!
We went there with 7 including 3 kids and they turned us away for 21 and over. Which is fine, except NOWHERE online or in the restaurant did it say that. Including a sign in the lobby that said 2nd floor was all ages all the time. Ended up wasting almost 2 hours trying to find somewhere else to eat. I’d give it 0s across the board if I could.
The crispy chicken was too thin and tough, as was the beef in the cottage pie. However, the beef stroganoff was fantastic. While we have always been fans of McNellie's, this visit did not meet our expectations.
I had such a great time at this restaurant! It brought back memories of my time in Dublin, Ireland. I will definitely be returning to McNellies!
