The server was exceptional! I really appreciated her attentiveness, and she even offered me a to-go drink. No doubt, she's in the wrong restaurant. As for the food, the chips were good, and the salsa was decent. However, the cheese dip lacked nearly all flavor. I enjoyed the rice, and the cheese and onion enchiladas were just okay. Unfortunately, the refried beans were unappealing. I might just take my chances on trying another unfamiliar place rather than returning to Poblano's. Perhaps I should explore the Hispanic neighborhood near downtown instead.
If you're in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. We were initially told there would be a 30-minute wait, but we ended up waiting over an hour, followed by another 35 minutes before we could even place our order. The service was lacking, and it seemed like no one was concerned about how long customers were waiting.
The food is good every time we come. We were in a large group tonight and it went really well. The food was still good and all served at the same time.
Definitely come here and try it out. The food definitely leans closer to more authentic Mexican cuisine, especially when it comes to choice of spices. My favorite part of my dish (cheese onion enchiladas) was the side dish of papas that was delicious! The chili sauce just was not my favorite but that's a personal preference. Service was super prompt very attentive. Decor/ambiance is clean simple.
We typically love Poblano's but not today! Freaking awful! I would love to use so many curse words but I'll keep it G rated. We arrived on a Saturday around 1pm, so not completely lunch rush. We were seated promptly. FYI, they are out of kids menus so be prepared to look online to figure out kid options. Food came out cold. After waiting about 40 minutes for it. Food was average at best. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and all that came out was tomato juice and 12 shrimp, 3 chunks of avocado and no pico, which the waiter specifically asked if we wanted and we said yes and he did note it correctly, they were just cheap on ingredients. Ambiance BEYOND loud today. Screaming servers, screaming kids, I was over stimulated after about 5 minutes and could barely stand it. Bathroom floor had water all over it. The soap dispensers are approximately 5 feet off the ground. If you are disabled or vertically challenged expect to get the soap shot into your face or mouth as my 7 year old son did. Service had to ask for EVERY single thing and wait 10 minutes in between requests. Extra plate, refills, etc. didn't matter took forever!!!! Needless to say I won't be back any time soon and I'd steer clear of there are more than 5 cars in the parking lot as they can not obviously handle a 3/4 full dining room without being completely overwhelmed.
