Listen to a fantastic jazz band while indulging in delicious omelets, pancakes, and egg breakfasts. The "Jazzy Brunch" comes highly recommended - a perfect way to start your day!
Sort of straight forward food. Always very good, but don't expect creative. Nice New England ambiance. Very friendly and super-helpful staff; we had someone in a walker and they were lovely in how they took care of us. Only issue was very slow dinner service; they may have been understaffed, but it just seemed inefficient. But, as I said, exceptionally friendly and nice.
The food exceeded expectations and was delicious, the wait staff were attentive and friendly and The Side Door Jazz Club, located at the Inn, was awesome- Intimate, excellent acoustics and great world renowned Jazz artists lined up for the foreseeable future…Have dinner and see a show at The Old Lyme Inn/ Side Door Jazz Club!
We had a fantastic server who went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. I have been coming to this restaurant for years, often before heading to the jazz club next door, which is one of my favorite spots. While the quality of the food and service has fluctuated in recent years, this time the service was excellent and the food is improving. The only issue I have is that when the bill arrived for just the two of us, a 20% gratuity was automatically included. This is uncommon for a small party. Despite this, we added an extra tip because our server was so wonderful and kind. I believe the tip amount should be left to the discretion of the diners, depending on the experience they had. - M. We went to "The Patio" for the second time for some food and jazz. The music was excellent, but it was a bit too loud for us to have a conversation. The food was decent, but not exceptional - the salmon was slightly overcooked, the lo mein noodles were a bit sticky, and another guest's burger was also overdone. The servers were friendly and attentive when they were around, but the service was quite slow, which was surprising given that most of the tables were empty. We will come back for "Jazz on the Patio" as I believe this experience was not typical of dining at this restaurant.
