Plenty of outdoor seating in a private and cozy courtyard with a water fountain that muffles the conversation of other patrons. Diverse menu offerings (seafood, steaks, pasta, burgers) and creative chef specials. Not a 5 star dining experience but still a very nice experience.
Great place for comfort seafood. It's a little loud, but food was great. Service was excellent. Good morning you want to step out for a well cooked meal one night.
Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Everything was perfect
We unexpectedly stopped for two nights in Old Saybrook, CT, and had dinner at Otter Cove last night as it was across the street from our hotel and pretty much the only option for us to walk to. And it couldn’t have been a better option. The milieu inside was what should be expected and hoped for in a coastal town like this. If I lived in the area, the wait staff would bore of me quickly. The help is super friendly, on point, and on the way out we got a chance to meet the owner by the door (nice move, respect and pepper him with some questions and he’s exactly what I like to see in an owner of such an establishment – and that’s all good things; very friendly, informative, and gracious for the patronage. I’d probably still come back to this place if I didn’t like their food and still drank alcohol. But I did. We all did. They have an upstairs for: receptions, parties, get togethers, etc. I’m a sucker for places like this. We’re in town for one more night and will be going back one more time. And if we/I ever come back to this area in the future, we will be going back. I’m a sucker for places like this. If I were 22 again, and full of hope, I’d be at the end of the bar cradling a Beat book, sitting arrogantly and being consistently right to all around, and nursing three fingers of Chivas Regal – yet still not aware of the things that would lead me back here. (Have I been here before? They would bore of me quickly. Ordered: Lisa’s Rigatoni (great call – spaghetti is old news and Meatballs, Asian Tuna Nachos, and a hot dog and fries for the pip squeak. All were loved.
Regrettably, we were not impressed by the food. Very fishy smell, not typical of quality seafood. Scallops were tender but not much flavor. Shrimp, was not good. Wine list? You have to ask the bartender.
