A very distinct French restaurant. Both service and food are top notch. Love their French pressed coffee. Pastries and frozen treats are absolutely delicious. Great place to have a quiet brunch meal.

Brought our family for brunch this morning. Everything was perfectly and thoughtfully prepared. Our daughters loved the Pain Perdu while we each loved our cocotte and omelette. We also enjoyed some pastries before and after, and have previously stopped in for gelato. This restaurant is a gem.

What a gem! Whenever I have friends visit, Cocotte is our go to place for a memorable, picture perfect, French brunch! There's not a dish here that won't please, but some of my favorites are the Omelette aux Champignons and the Cocotte Normande. The eggs are cooked beautifully, but I also love these dishes because of the lyonnaise potatoes. Their potatoes are what breakfast dreams are made of uber crispy on the outside with creamy insides. I could have Cocotte's lyonnaise potatoes every day. The bakery counter, filled with too pretty to eat petit fours and golden brown pastries, will have you drooling and dreaming of Paris as well. Cocotte's quaint breakfast nook is easily one of the best parts of Old Saybrook!

RACLETTE!!!! I could stop this review now and those that appreciate that one word will run here without hesitation! Table side Raclette.... Oooy goooy yummy cheese all hot and melty scraped from the wheel in front of you, landing on top of delicious selections! I chose the Bayonne Ham (think similar to prescuito) as an addition, and it was so good! Plus amazing French press coffee with chicory! Soooo good! Everything here is offered with an attention to detail and pride that you will likely find as refreshing as I did! Their pastries are world class and show a nuanced skill rarely experienced. I cannot express my excitement as this find and the absolute impatience I feel to return again, many times! Make the trip here, try it for yourself, take home a container of the coffee, maybe a few pastries to enjoy while you plan your next visit!

Charming. Charming. Charming. My husband and I went for lunch. It was a delight both in terms of the food and the warm hospitality of our server and Jeffrey, the owner. Delicious Bacon Cocotte. Rich and beautifully done with a long buttered warm slice of baguette and lyonaise potatoes perfectly spiced and crisp. The three-egg mushroom omelet a delight. Should have had the special soup, Baked Onion, but knew I should wait! Will be back for it. Wonderful addition to Old Saybrook! Bravo!
