Liv's Shack Old Saybrook

My wife and I stayed at Liv?s Shack in Old Saybrook Ct for lunch. We both and a GREAT 1/4 Lb. Fresh lobster roll, truffle friars and Slav 1/4 lb was enough as they have a 1/2 lb available, but was not necessary. Great service, great food and pleasant views of the marina made this lunch good value.

He waited for me about 45 minutes to an hour. The food I ordered was two orders from shrimps. The food wasn't even good when it came out. Almost $40 for 16 pieces of medium shrimp. Apart from the quality of food, there are hardly any parking spaces. I'll never be back.

I got the 1/4 lb lobster roll for $24.00. We added Fritten for $6.00. The lobster was really better than we expected. It was sweet fresh lobster meat on a buttery grilled hot dog rolled with butter and lemon. It wasn't an oversized portion, but it was a nice lunch size bite. I wouldn't order the Pommes again. It's kind of bizarre how they work. You're on the grass. A waiting employee is on a deck above you. She writes original order and takes original money. She came back and said we could eat at the picnic tables. It was gray and cloudy and drizzly....you in service I guess?? The Bldg looks literally like a parking lot. I think w limited waiters, this can be the new wave of fast food that is delicious. We go back when we roll for a quick lobster.

Good for a quick bite. External bench seated. Order in front of the restaurant and go to the back of the restaurant to sit on outdoor benches. It is BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) place. Good place for fast lunch. Staff bring the food outside, service is good that they are friendly. We had Fish taco, Grilled Shrimp taco lobster bisque soup. All dishes were delicious! The parking is outside the restaurant on the street, the handicap parking sign is confusing (all cars can park there) it is not easy to reach the restaurant from the street, should disabled parking places near the restaurant where there are few places.

Their lobster roll are amazing. It's completely different than most with no Mayo and only butter. It's more like eat a lobster than a sub. The truffle fries were a nice compliment to go along. Also, they are BYOB which was nice
