We started with a delicious calamari appetizer, and I enjoyed an incredible clam linguini—definitely the best I've ever had. The service was exceptional, and the value was excellent. When we return to Old Saybrook, we look forward to coming back.
We had a wonderful dinner with cocktails and I highly recommend it! We were fortunate to meet Nancy, the owner, who was also our fantastic server. The restaurant was quite busy that Saturday night, but the staff did their utmost to ensure we had an excellent experience. I have great respect for the owners and employees of all restaurants who work so hard, especially with reduced staff. Thank you once again, Nancy! We truly appreciated your hospitality!
There's so much to say about this restaurant! The menu is friendly and offers a great variety, and the food is just fantastic! From the appetizers to the main courses, and dessert? Wow! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly. I highly recommend this place—let’s support our local businesses!
What a disappointing experience. You did not honor our reservation. We arrived on time and said they were not sure when they could put us. There was a table, but they thought it was another party. They were not especially apologetic and it was really a very bad customer service experience. Very unobtrusive. We went because they were no less interested in doing things right.
Today we enjoyed our first meal at this gem of a restaurant. Nancy, the owner, epitomizes the gracious and enthused host, and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated her guidance with menu selection, although I doubt there could have been a disappointing choice. After a coconut shrimp appetizer, my husband enjoyed the sole Milanese and I the chicken Florentine. While I almost never eat dessert, I understood that they were home made and unusual, and indeed they were! My husband had a coconut tart which reminded him of one he had enjoyed and longed for from his time in Thailand. I enjoyed the many berry crumble, served warm with ice cream. They were scrumptious! If there is one thing I could change about this restaurant, it would be the interior, which is painted in mostly brown and mauve which I found dated the place and was a bit depressing. But I am an interior designer, and can't help but be influenced by my environment.
