The flavors are clean, crisp, and delicious. The coleslaw is white, bright, and refreshing. The prices are very good, especially considering the portion sizes. Oh… And the french fries are fantastic! We have dying here for lunch on to other occasions, and every meal has been superb!
Nice little place to eat, first time to oliver for our baby Mia spayed. Really ugly day (snow storm etc). Research and decided to drop by for lunch from Tripadvisor app. Food was pretty good and price are reasonable.
We were lucky to walk in and find a table at this little place in Oliver. We had heard good things about it from fellow travellers and were keen to try it. They are very careful these days about following their covid protocols and the few tables were very well-spaced, the waitress was masked, and they had good disinfection between guests at tables. The menu is small but the food is fantastic (basically fish and chips and prawns). Service was quick. The batter was crispy and light and the coleslaw was wonderful, not like the usual limp and soggy offerings you get at some spots. It was the best fish and chip meal we've ever had.
Excellent fish and chips! The batter is light and crispy. The cole slaw is cabbage and apple and is lighty dressed instead of the usual mayo covered concoction. The fries are obviously hand cut and perfectly cooked. Even the tartar sauce is homemade and is a lighter, much more flavourful version of the usual “out of the bottle” stuff in fish and chip shops. The seafood soup was hot and delicious. Again, a light, more flavourful take on this classic. This soup is usually so heavy and gummy that it’s impossible to eat. Not this one. Full of tasty bits of shrimp and mussels in a much lighter and approachable base than seems to be the standard. And great value!! Two large pieces of haddock, perfectly cooked with fries, slaw and tartar is $18.95!! The bowl of seafood soup was $8.95! If you are driving through Oliver, don’t hesitate to check out the fish and chips here. Easy to find on the west side of Main Street with ample street parking. Highly recommended!!
Absolute trash. Showed up at 530, 2 tables seated in the place. Lady says they can't take any more dine in and they close at 630 (still 3 tables open). Says they can only do take out. Okay I think, I'll order take out and walk back to hotel. Takes order , makes me pay, then says come back at 630 to pick it up. Wait what? Why would I come back it's take out. We are too busy....there's 2 tables....we can't serve you until 630. Don't waste your time with this horrible place.
