Minen fins l últim detall. Gent amb ganes de fer les coses ben fetes i on l’esforç i la constància es nota en cadascun dels plats que serveixen. Pocs restaurants iguals hi ha a la comarca.
We visited this restaurant for lunch when in Olot based on the photographs of the food and vistas from this mountain top location. It was our worst meal and the most expensive meal in the 2 months that we have been in Spain! When we arrived, there was one other table. There were empty plates, glasses and bottles on several tables from previous customers. The owner almost seemed to not want us as he told us he could only offer ‘menu of the day’. We had no problem with that. The menu price was 35 euros per person so we were expecting a decent meal. There were unfortunately no vegetarian options on the menu. Before our drinks arrived I asked for our table to be wiped as it was dirty from previous clients. It quickly became obvious that there was no other staff on the premises and the owner was doing everything himself, from taking orders, to serving and cooking/preparing the food. After the meal I used the bathroom. Both toilets were dirty, there was no toilet paper, no soap and no drier or hand towels. First course was a salad (for me) which consisted of small portions of individually presented lettuce, baby tomatoes, capsicum and olives, none of which was particularly fresh or tasty. My husband had anchovy olives (about 6) and some very small, thin slices of jamon. For the main meal I chose octopus (no vegetarian as I mentioned) and my husband chose the slow cooked lamb. Both meals were served on luke warm, precooked potato. The octopus was nice but the lamb looked like meatloaf (again obviously preprepared). Both meals were exceptionally small, insubstantial and would have fitted in the palm of our hands. For dessert I chose ice cream. It is difficult to get ice cream wrong, and it was nice. It came in a jar, directly out of the freezer and obviously pre-scooped and stored, ready for delivery to the table. When we arrived home later, my husband was so hungry that he had an entrecote steak. We could have had a much tastier, more substantial meal for half the price anywhere else in Catalunya.
Thats it!! Great food , that it feels like home to me in a incredible place on the top of an ancient (not active) volcano in.the heart of la garrotxa!!the views are amazing of the volcanos around!! The food is worth value to go.up there!!
A very special place worth to know, but not for the food. Small portions and absol utely pretentious. We paid a good amount and left as hungry as we arrived. Maybe a not so good advise from the waiter to share the food... I don' recommend, maybe having a drink is a better option there...
The views are spectacular and very good attention. I'd have had a drip after I climbed steps to sit down and eat something more homemade or at least with more quantity. dishes are small and somewhat expensive, I understand that the location makes it special, but able with prices and greater quantity one would be more encouraged to return.
